COME RIDE WITH US
All club rides and events are open to the public. You do not need to be a GSW member to participate in any of our rides, events, or meetings. Membership is required to receive the newsletter, access to our Ride with GPS route library, discounts at sponsoring shops, and insurance coverage.
General RIDE InfoRMATION
Club activities are open to anyone interested in bicycling. Parental consent is required for those under 18 years old.
Rides are listed as Road, Gravel or Rail Trail. Most rides are mapped out by the Ride Leader prior to the ride. In case of rain, the ride will be canceled or rescheduled. If you have any questions, call the Ride Leader listed on our public MeetUp calendar.
The Ride Leader and riders for Newcomer rides select the route and the pace is expected to be at the pace of the slowest rider. Generally, the distance and average pace anticipated appears in the ride description.
Courtesy Recommendations:
Rides start at the designated time, please arrive early to prepare. Please have your bicycle in good working order. Always carry on your bike a spare tube, tire levers, a patch kit, a pump, water, snacks, and emergency numbers. Mirror, headlights and taillights are highly recommended. Helmets are required on all club rides.
Volunteer:
If you don't find a ride you like, then volunteer to become a ride leader. Call the ride coordinator for more information. Ride leaders must be GSW members.
Charity Rides:
Charity riders are welcomed at all GSW rides. Let the ride leader know you're in training for a Charity Ride!
Invitational Rides:
Events sponsored by area bike clubs and organizations, but not for charity fund raising.
Mileage Tracking:
Members get their mileage tracked for each club ride, charity, and invitational ride. Cumulative totals are printed in the Pedal Talk.
Liability Release:
A form is to be signed by both members and guest cyclists before starting any ride. The form also serves the purpose of recording club mileage. All participants must sign the form before the ride begins.
